DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReporting to the Dean of the School of Education and Human Development, the Director of Educational Leadership is responsible for coordinating and directing all programs and activities associated with the program, including but not limited to:
Active engagement in networking, marketing, and recruiting prospective students
Supporting program applicants and facilitating selection and admissions processes
Coordinating activities to support EdD students (e.g., program orientation and matriculation meetings, dissertation writing seminars, etc.)
Serving as a primary student contact for advising, mentoring, and support
Cultivating relationships within the campus as well as the local community and beyond
Facilitating shared governance and program effectiveness efforts of the EdD program
Facilitating continuous improvement of program curriculum, instruction, and assessment
Facilitating the scheduling of courses, faculty teaching assignments, oversight of program budget and expenditures
Engaging local educational partners in continuous improvement efforts.
Coordinating program accreditation activities
Recruiting, supporting, mentoring, and facilitating the evaluation of EdD faculty and affiliate faculty
Maintaining the daily management and operation of the EdD, coordinating with other units to support operation (e.g., library, facilities, IT, etc.)
Teaching courses; chairing and serving as a member on dissertation committees
Maintaining an active research agenda, including a record of scholarly publications and presentations
Providing professionally related service to the School, University, community, and profession
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEMinimum Qualifications:
Currently on Associate/Full tenured professor track
Evidence of commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within and across educational institutions
At least 3 years of executive leadership experience in the public schools or in higher education
Experience with fiscal and personnel management
Record of scholarly and professional achievement sufficient to merit a tenure-track/tenured position at the rank of associate or full professor in the field of educational leadership
Evidence of successful teaching, advising, and mentoring students at the graduate level
Successful experience in building relationships and working collaboratively with diverse educational partners within and across educational institutions, and the communities they serve
Experience in gift relations and formulating and chairing an advisory board
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience facilitating internal and external educational and community partners in the development and implementation of strategic plans and continuous improvement efforts
A robust record of scholarly activity with an agenda centering on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the field of educational leadership
Experience directing/coordinating graduate programs
Experience seeking and managing external grant funding, gifts, and securing vested partnerships for the school and program
Evidence of successful PK-20 teaching and leadership experience
Evidence of serving on and chairing dissertation committees
EDUCATIONDoctoral degree (i.e., Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in educational leadership or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.
RANK AND COMPENSATIONAssociate or full professor rank. Compensation based on qualifications and experience. A competitive compensation package including base salary, along with a full benefits package will be offered.
