Postdoctoral Researcher - Behavior Technology LaboratoryPennington Biomedical Research Center, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Behavior Technology Laboratory.

The successful candidate will join the Behavior Technology Laboratory, which focuses on developing health technologies to disseminate evidence-based prevention and treatment efforts to various populations. Areas of focus include body image, eating disorders, obesity, and mental performance and resilience. Populations include female athletes, U.S. Soldiers, Medicaid patients, and individuals in the surrounding community, including pediatric populations. Studies include going out into the community delivering interventions and collecting data via technology platforms, e.g. smartphone apps, as well as treating patients who come to us directly in our on-campus clinic.

The postdoctoral researcher will participate in all aspects of clinical and population science research, including staffing complex clinical cases across the obesity and eating disorder spectrums, translation of science into technology-based tools, intervention development, designing research studies, preparing and submitting grant applications, managing study execution, data management and analysis, and dissemination of study results.

Major Responsibilities

Conduct research studies on the prevention and treatment of obesity and related co-morbidities.

Contribute to ongoing research efforts on weight management strategies via health behaviors.

Develop content and functionality for technology-based delivery of interventions.

Assist in conducting statistical analyses of datasets.

Prepare research grant applications and peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts and abstracts.

Required Qualifications

PhD in nutrition, psychology, exercise science, kinesiology, epidemiology, public health, or related field.

Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary.

Additional Job Description:This position will work directly with the Greaux Healthy program. Greaux Healthy is a new prevention and treatment initiative aimed at combatting obesity by leveraging more than 30 years of research at Pennington Biomedical to create an integrated network of evidence-based obesity treatment and prevention programs for people aged twenty-five and younger.

This postdoctoral researcher position is an excellent opportunity in the world of population and public health research under the mentorship of Dr. Tiffany Stewart, the Dudley & Beverly Coates Endowed Professor; Director, Behavior Technology Laboratory: Health, Performance, & Resilience at Pennington Biomedical.
