CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (UMMSOM) is experiencing a period of expansion and is seeking exceptional candidates to join the faculty. This is a full-time Assistant Professor of Clinical position.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Provide ophthalmology medical and surgical services as needed according to service rotation and call schedule.
Be active in the education of residents and medical students in the service.
Maintain high clinical quality, productivity and citizenship within the department.
Represent the department with clinicians, trainees, and staff who are based at affiliates and referral practices.
Develop referral and educational relationships within the University of Miami Health System and with other practices.
Develop a regional and eventually national presence as a clinical leader.
Develop, maintain and secure funding for academic/research activities.
Develop and/or participate in quality assurance protocols and clinical outcome studies.
Perform administrative and committee responsibilities as assigned.
Be willing to see patients at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute satellite locations.
Abide by and conform to all university policies and procedures.
CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Certification and Licensing:
The candidate must be board certified/eligible and must have a license to practice medicine in the state of Florida.
