Overview:Youth Villages is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to helping emotionally and behaviorally troubled children and their families live successfully. Founded in 1986, Youth Villages has an annual budget of $490 million (90% of revenue comes from public sources) with 4,500 employees committed to helping more than 43,000 children and families each year in 27 states and the District of Columbia.Responsibilities:Youth Villages seeks candidates for a new Director of Development to lead an expanded fundraising program in the greater Memphis and Jackson, Tennessee regions. Ideal candidates will be accomplished fundraising leaders who have delivered positive and sustained impact in complex environments in which collaboration was critical to success.This individual, in collaboration with the Managing Director of Development for Regional Growth, Chief Development Officer, and CEO, will develop and implement the strategic fundraising plans for Youth Villages in the West Tennessee region and will play a key role as a Director on the Youth Villages leadership team.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Other duties may be assigned:Leads the team responsible for fundraising and volunteer operations in West Tennessee.Develop local qualified volunteer leaders as part of a WTN Advisory Board dedicated to increasing awareness and funds to assist with program sustainability.Develops comprehensive, proactive strategies for maximizing giving among existing and prospective mid-level and major gift donors. Leads personal solicitations and written proposals for individuals, corporations, and foundations to meet annual fundraising goals.Through designated staff members, give leadership to special events and community outreach programs including, but not limited to, YV5K, Soup Sunday, Backpack Heroes, and Holiday Heroes Program with other staff to provide gifts, parties, etc. to children and families year-round.Through designated staff members, will be responsible for managing the implementation, maintenance, and expansion of all volunteer and community engagement activities in WTN.In partnership with Youth Villages national marketing team, help generate impactful communications for donors through newsletters, videos, and social media.Conducts tours and makes public presentations as needed.Maintain information on donors, prospects, and volunteers in the Youth Villages database.Qualifications:Education and ExperienceBachelors degree with 10+ years of advanced nonprofit development experience leading strategic fundraising initiatives and growing diversified financial revenues and resources, preferably with organizations having no naturally affiliated constituencies.Demonstrated success in leading campaigns and securing major and annual gifts, primarily from individuals followed by foundations and corporations.Has a history of achieving measurable fundraising goals.Demonstrated success in working as a member of a team and developing effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, and donors.Knowledge of both local and national philanthropic communities.Deep appreciation for and commitment to Youth Villages’ mission of helping America’s most vulnerable children and families.Management experience with demonstrated leadership ability.Benefits:Medical, Dental, Prescription Drug Coverage and Vision401(k)2 weeks paid vacation12 paid sick days per year11 paid holidaysPaid Parental LeaveMileage Reimbursement (when applicable)Tuition reimbursementGrowth & development through continuous trainingClinical and administrative advancement opportunitiesYouth Villages is an equal opportunity employer and provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.Youth Villages is committed to not only advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace but also in our work with children and young adults.
