The Chemistry Department at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL is seeking candidates with expertise in Chemistry for a full-time tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor appointment starting August 2025. Teaching assignments will be in the areas of Physical Chemistry (lecture and laboratory) and related fields. The successful applicant will be expected to provide exceptional instruction at the undergraduate level, successful research with undergraduates, secure external funding and perform other duties as required.Department:

Holds the highest degree appropriate to the field or possesses equivalent qualifications based on professional experience, and be otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. The appointee engages in teaching, scholarship and creative projects, and/or service and other related activities.Associate Professor Minimum Qualifications:

Holds the highest degree appropriate to the field or possesses professional qualifications in the field above those that would be equivalent to the highest degree. Normally, an associate professor will have produced creative work, professional writing, or research; and have had successful teaching or professional experience in the field of specialization. The appointee engages in teaching, scholarship and creative projects, and/or service and other related activities.Position Qualifications:

PhD in Chemistry from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Outstanding candidates in all areas of chemistry and interdisciplinary areas involving physical chemistry with a focus on computational chemistry will be considered.Preferred Qualifications:

The candidate must have a PhD in Chemistry from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. The position requires exceptional instruction at the undergraduate level and successful research with undergraduate students. Candidates who take computational approaches to address chemical problems, informed by a physical chemistry perspective, broadly defined.Physical Demands:Physical Requirements: No unusual physical requirement.
