The University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Donaghey College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Mechanical Engineering in the School of Engineering and Engineering Technology beginning January 2025. The successful candidate will develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses and laboratories in Mechanical Engineering, which includes a teaching load of 9 instructional units each semester.Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:BS in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering;PhD in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline (Degree must be from an accredited university). ABD may be considered;Demonstrated strong English communication skills.Preferred Education and/or Experience:Prior teaching engineering courses;Experience in teaching in a hybrid or online environment;Expertise in engineering software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Ansys, MATLAB;Post-doctoral or industrial experience.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Mechanical Engineering and advanced graduate courses in their research areas;Teach courses in areas of Robotics, Mechatronics, Acoustics, Vibrations, Statics, Dynamics, Machine Design, Solid Modeling, and Mechanical Engineering labs;Advise undergraduate and graduate students;Supervise graduate research projects;Establish and maintain an externally funded research program that includes the support of graduate and undergraduate students;Engage in research and professional development;Serve on program, school, college, and university committees;Publish scholarly articles in conference proceedings and technical journals;Assist with activities related to ABET accreditation;Participate in outreach activities;Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Demonstrated ability to develop and teach courses and laboratories in Mechanical Engineering;Demonstrated strong English verbal and written communication skills;Demonstrated commitment to a diverse work environment;Ability to collaborate with existing faculty.Salary Information:
