Weston & Sampson is looking for a Project Scientist/Project Manager with 8 - 15 years of experience in wetland delineations, ecological habitat assessments, and environmental permitting. This is a hybrid position in our Rocky Hill, CT office.What you’ll do:Delineating wetlands using the US Army Corps of Engineers methodology.Environmental permitting, preferably in CT, MA, and NH.Handling flexible workload, diverse project files, and working well with multiple staff members.Overseeing project teams with preparing permit applications for multi-disciplinary projects.Manage technical, budgetary and client aspects of projects.Assist with business development, marketing, and proposal preparation with support from senior management.Attend public hearings and present projects to various committees and boards.Establishing long-term relationships with agency, municipal and private clients.Supervise, train, and mentor junior staff.Participate in professional organizations through presentations and/or technical committees.What you will bring:8+ years of experience in environmental engineering, consulting experience preferred.Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.Certified Soil Scientist is a plus.Experience with conducting ecological habitat assessments is a plus.Experience with energy, transportation, and environmental project permitting is preferred.Experience with public speaking at public hearings, workshops, and seminars.Ability to handle flexible workload, diverse project files, and working well with multiple staff members.Valid driver’s license is required. Some travel will be required to client meetings and project sites.Familiarity with Connecticut and Massachusetts environmental permitting regulations.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Organizational/time management skills.
