Research
Scientist with a background in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Signal Processing, and/or Optics .
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and assist with preparation of grant applications and proposals
Oversee and assist with overseeing technical projects
Work with multi-disciplinary teams to advance technology
Interact with customers and collaborators to advance technology
Manage financial budgets and resources relevant to assigned project(s)
Serve as Subject Matter Expert in relevant fields of development
Required Skills and Education:
Ph.D. degree in applied physics, electrical and computer engineering, or a related field
Ability to design and carry out experiments
Data management and technical reporting skills
Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
Ability to communicate effectively with scientists and researchers from other disciplines
Excellent organizational and data management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven technical writing capabilities
Desired Experience:
1-3 years of postdoctoral experience (industrial/academic) and/or professional experience
Experience in proposal writing, grantsmanship, and project oversight
Experience in one or more of the following fields:
Neuromorphic sensing
Neuromorphic computing
Integrated circuit (IC) design
Imaging and non-imaging optics
Computer vision
High power laser optics
Embedded systems design
Spintronics
Software defined radio
Multiphysics modeling
Control systems
State estimation
Sensor / transducer design and characterization
Scientific computing
Modeling and simulation
Data science
Scientific machine learning
Additional Information:
Applicants with unconventional (but relevant) education and/or experience will be considered.
Due to contractual requirements, the position is open to US Citizens or permanent residents only. Work is conducted on-site (in College Station, TX). The position is full-time (40 hrs/week) and flexibly scheduled within standard business hours.
Military experience is highly valued.
