Rapidly-growing, local manufacturing company is adding to its Environmental, Health and Safety team!Great opportunity to build upon your hands-on experience in EHS.This is an onsite role in Ravena, NYSalary is a range of $25-30/hr.Hours are M-F, regularly business hours, with flexibilityTemporary-to-permanent opportunity; direct hire also considered!Excellent growth potentialSummary:The EHS Specialist position is comprised of three main and equally important roles: Compliance, Leadership and Training, supporting various areas of the business. This person will be required to conduct regular inspections, generate EHS assessment and compliance reports, ensure that all occupational guidelines and regulations are adhered to and train employees on regulatory required training and internal safety policies and procedures.

Day-to-day, the EHS Specialist will be responsible for:

Supporting the deployment and maintenance of the EHS Management System and ISO CertificationsEvaluating existing EHS practices, processes, policies, and training tools to implement changes related to evolving legal and rule requirementsPerforming EHS risk assessments and Management of Change; providing solutions and intervention strategiesPerforming Internal Auditing of the EHS Management SystemOverseeing incident investigation and tracking of corrective actionsSupporting and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement; participating in process improvement mappingConducting inspections and identifying hazards and potential Environmental, Health and Safety non-compliancesDepartment of Transportation ComplianceEnvironmental CompliancePerforming EHS Compliance AuditsOccupational Medical ManagementSupporting and leading plant safety meetingsPerforming PPE and Risk AssessmentsScheduling of Occupational Medical Exams and tracking of resultsConducting Job Safety Analyses/Job Hazard AnalysesSupporting Field and Transportation related activitiesSupporting Laboratory EHS related activities (Chemical Hygiene)To be considered for this role, you should have:

Two-four years EHS related experience and training or equivalent combination of education, training, and experienceA minimum of two years' experience as an EHS Specialist, Coordinator or similar roleStrong knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations within a manufacturing or production work environmentStrong leadership skills, specifically the ability to motivate others to adhere to all EHS policies, procedures, regulations, and compliancePossess an acute eye for detailAbility to collaborate with the different departments to define and support EHS and ISO goals and objectivesAbility to administer employee training programs specific to EHS policies, procedures, and best practicesKnowledge or training in Human and Organizational Performance/Behavior SafetyKnowledge or training in Hazardous Materials/Hazard Communication, the use of PPE and SDS's, Cranes and hoists, hand, and power tools, walking and working surfaces, confined space and lock out tag outExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointNesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.Nesco Resource provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
