Under the direction of the Beacon Director, the Site Director is responsible for the supervision, operation, development, and implementation of dynamic out of school time programs for students at MLK Jr. Academic Middle School. Highly collaborative, the Site Director builds and maintains strong and productive relationships with and among youth, families, Bayview YMCA staff, partner organizations, and community members of the Bayview Hunters Point District. They should be adept at working in a fast-paced environment with students of color and thinking fast on their feet.Minimum Qualifications

Must be at least 23 years of ageBachelor’s degree or equivalent required3 years or more working with youth in an organized setting and 2 or more years of proven staff development, supervision, and trainingPassion for social justice and knowledge of the Bayview Hunters Point community, its residents, and a desire to make a differenceA commitment to providing young people with the highest-quality youth development experienceMust be knowledgeable about youth development program design and planning, administration and evaluation, child abuse reporting laws, After School standards, as well as knowledge and awareness of a wide variety of out of school activitiesMust be a talented multi-tasker and an independent worker who is adept at working on a team, thrives in a start-up environment and maintains a flexible and positive attitudeMust have the ability to develop positive relationships with youth, adults, parents, staff, teachers, administration, the Y, and community membersMust be able to work independently, have consistent follow through and demonstrate good judgmentExcellent organizational skills and multi-project/multi-task oriented, including experience scheduling and coordinating multiple fun and education-focused activities for youthMust know how to grow, motivate, and maintain a strong new teamExperience working with middle school students in an urban areaTeam player with proven ability to work with people from a variety of different ethnic, socio economic, educational, religious, sexual, and generational backgroundsTB Test clearanceFingerprint background check clearancePreferred Qualifications

5 years or more working with youth in an organized setting and 3 or more years of proven staff development, supervision, and trainingMaster’s Degree in related field or equivalentBilingual skills in Spanish, Cantonese, TagalogAll employees working with the YMCA are considered to have supervisory or disciplinary action relationship over minors.
