THEATRE AND DANCE - PART-TIME LECTURER POOL, THEATRE PROGRAM . The Theatre and Dance Department, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California invites applications for a pool of part-time lecturers in Theatre. Positions are available as determined by need and funding during the Fall, Winter, and/or Spring quarters of the 2024-2025 academic year, which begins September 16, 2024. Teaching assignments are contingent upon budget and enrollments. Assignments may include teaching courses such as: Introduction to Theatre, Theatre History, Improvised Narratives, American Theatre and/or Topics in Diversity on the American Stage, World Drama, Rehearsal and Performance, Music Direction and Vocal Coaching, Stage Management, Production Management, Sound Design and Engineering, and Technologies in Design and Technical Production.Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2023, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:Lecturer A: $5,007-$6,359Lecturer B: $5,925-$12,594Lecturer C: $6,500-$13,831Lecturer D: $8,184-$14,487The College of Liberal Arts (CLA) sees diversity as central to its mission and is committed to fostering an equitable and inclusive environment within the college and university. Candidates for lecture classes must have at least a Master's degree in Theatre Arts (e.g., MA, MFA).PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPreference will be given to those with university-level teaching experience.Ph.D. in Theatre Arts or Performance Studies preferred for lecture and seminar sections.SPECIAL CONDITIONSAll CSU employees are designated "mandated reporters" under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act. As a condition of your employment, you will be required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 and any subsequent amendments.Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
