Job Description:

Laurel Ridge Community College is accepting applications for part-time Adjunct Faculty - Information Systems Technology (weekday) positions. Adjunct Faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed.

Responsibilities include teaching college level courses, on campus during the weekday. This position will be located at the Middletown Campus located in Middletown, Virginia.

Adjunct/Continuing Education Faculty listings are on a continuous, open until filled basis. Applicants will be contacted on an as needed basis. Submission of on-line application must also include unofficial transcripts of all college work completed (cover letters and resumes are optional, but recommended).

Compensation and Benefits:

Adjunct/Continuing Education Faculty: The rate per credit hour will commensurate with education and relevant or teaching experience. The position is part time and as such is not eligible for health or leave benefits. However, the position may offer educational benefits through our professional development and educational assistance policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s in teaching field or Associate’s in teaching field with demonstrated competency in teaching field. Qualifying degrees and coursework must be awarded by a regionally accredited institution. International transcripts for the applicable degree must also include an evaluation by a credential evaluation service approved by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).

Minimum of two years of full-time (or full-time equivalent) related information technology experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in an information technology field or a master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching field. Qualifying degrees and coursework must be awarded by a regionally accredited institution. International transcripts for the applicable degree must also include an evaluation by a credential evaluation service approved by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).

Industry certified in any of the following technologies: CCNA, CEH, A+, Network+, Certified Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect, Security+, Linux+ or other IT industry certification preferred.

Willingness to adopt and teach new and emerging technologies (such as UAS (drones), artificial intelligence & machine learning, immersive technology, robotics/automation) preferred.

Experience utilizing technology in teaching, preferably at a community college preferred.
