ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENTThe incumbent will execute core analytical function of the Advanced Analytics Modeling Group (AAMG). The Advanced Data Analytics function refers to the predictive and prescriptive modeling imperative. This includes shaping the analytics strategy from design, development and modeling through implementation of solutions. This team will work heavily with business groups and leadership to ensure advanced analytic use cases are defined and implemented with value in mind. AAMG is responsible for a wide spectrum of use cases including member, operation, market, and industry focused analytics. The AAMG team’s mandate is to add business value through focused advanced data analytics. The objective interest of the incumbent is to model and analyze data composed of internal enterprise and external public and/or purchased data sets to advance solutions to identified use cases. The incumbent will work with the AAMG Leadership to set project goals, identify methods, advance results and apply outcomes to identified use cases. The incumbent is expected to use a variety of advanced statistical techniques to forecast and predict possible outcomes and/or scenarios and recommend best course of action. Statistical techniques may include model selection, regression, cluster analysis, random forest, stochastic simulation, neural network, machine learning, and other evolving tools. The incumbent will work directly with clients to identify needs and customize model parameters, accordingly. Solutions will require data acquisition and analysis, statistical modelling and analysis, and contextual analysis in scope of credit union operations and/or the financial sector. The incumbent will work directly with the AAMG team members, IT personnel, and IT Business Intelligence to acquire required data sources and cloud technologies for use case modelling and analysis. Integral to the work of the data scientist is the important task of communicating results to clients, management, and other stakeholders. The incumbent will explain insights and solutions to these audiences in narrative and visualizations that are both accessible and actionable. The incumbent will maintain documentation of all data products, methodologies, and solutions in support of use cases. The incumbent must have an ability to give and receive knowledge from others.Essential Job Duties

Models and analyzes structured data to advance solutions to identified use cases using a variety of advanced statistical and analytical techniques.Identifies and suggests data sources and statistical and technical methods for the purposes of modeling and analysis in support of identified use cases.Works collaboratively with internal clients in the business lines, management, and/or functional areas to identify needs, customize solutions, and ensure competency with analytical insights.Applies business strategy to inform project design, data analysis, and statistical modeling to ensure use case deliverables are relevant to business objectives.Collaborates with AAMG team to discover analytical opportunities, suggest best course of action, resolve problems, improve outputs, document methods, select statistical models, identify technologies, identify data sets, and communicate results in an open, constructive, critical, and professional manner.Communicates insights and solutions to clients, management, and other stakeholders using accessible and actionable narrative and visualizations.Investigates and learns new and emerging techniques and applications germane to advanced analytics. RequiredBachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or other technology-related field or equivalent number of years of experience.1+ years of experience developing and applying predictive and/or prescriptive analytic solutions for an organization with complex data sources.Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms.Proficiency in using SQL or any variant thereof.1+ years of experience in analytics, data science or data analysis/mining using tools or toolkits like R, R Studio, SPSS, Python, Anaconda, NumPy, MatLab, Weka, etc.Experience with NoSQL databases.1+ years of experience with cloud services (MS Azure preferred).Solid foundation in data structures, data parallelization, and design patterns.Proficiency in applied statistics: distributions, variance, statistical testing, regression, optimization, etc.Proficiency in multivariate calculus, linear algebra, and mathematical modelling.Experience with structured data.Experience with confidential data.Experience in data visualization tools.Effective communication skills.PreferredExperience with financial data and/or financial risk modelling.Experience with MS SQL Server.Experience with AI applications.Experience working in Microsoft Azure and Machine Learning Studio.Experience with unstructured data sets, including streaming data.JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
