Overview

Interstates is growing, and we are currently seeking an

Area Safety Manager

to join our team in. The Area Safety Manager will work closely with local leaders and the Safety Manager to execute safety standards and policies for the Omaha regional office.

This office covers a territory in Omaha and its surroundings cities such as Omaha, NE, and Kansas City, MO.

This individual will also help our customers achieve a successful and safe work zone, that meets all owner/regulatory requirements, as defined in the primary job duties section, below. Responsibilities

Promotes Behavioral Based Safety policies and procedures for specific areas.Monitors and promotes weekly on-site safety inspections including logging, reporting, and documentationInvestigations and manages accidents, injuries and near misses, and root causesFacilitates meetings with and development of Safety Techs in specific areasLead and train Safety Techs or site management in accident managementWork with and understand the different safety requirements for clients in specific areasSafety management for a condensed area within the same metropolitan area or nearby towns.Ability to communicate safety goals and contingency plans with area leaders

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:- A four-year degree in safety engineering or a related field or four-plus years leading a successful behavior-based safety culture and safety leadership in the construction industry.- OSHA certifications requiredOr equivalentcombination of both education and experienceExcellent verbal and written communicationAble to track information and conduct auditsAbility to write reports and procedure manualsCan effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general publicAbility to work well with others and achieve results through others, without having a direct line of authority over themMust possess sound judgement skills, and the ability to prioritize work and deal with stressIndustrial/Contracting/Oil & Gas/Food & Beverage/Wastewater/ Construction experience preferredApplication QuestionsJob Type: Full-TimeSchedule: Monday to Friday, some Saturdays pending schedulingLocation: On Site (Omaha)Travel: Estimated about 30% travel for this role within a 300 mile radius of where our Omaha, does work.
