Job Overview:

The Data Scientist will be an integral member of the Data Science team and will be responsible for modeling business problems and discovering business insights through the use of statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques. The Data Scientist supports senior leadership with insights, management reports, and analysis for decision-making processes.

Analyze and model structured as well as semi-structured data and implement algorithms to support analysis using statistical methods from statistics, machine learning & data mining.Utilize a diverse array of technologies and tools as needed, to deliver insights, such as Alteryx, R, Python, Spark, and Tableau.Translate business analytics problems into technical approaches that yield actionable recommendations through insightful visualizations, reports, and presentations.Process and clean the data needed for analysis - feature engineering.Perform exploratory data analysis, generate and test working hypotheses, and uncover interesting trends and relationships.Certification Requirements - Epic Cognitive Computing, Alteryx & Python certification using internal training tools expected within 1 year of hire date as well as maintaining your continued education credits.

Job Requirements:

Master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, or related fields.Equivalent relevant experience accepted in lieu of degree.Epic Cognitive Computing Certification ( Python Certification ( Alteryx Certification ( Experience with SQL and related data access tools.Experience with open-source tools for machine learning.Experience in creating rich custom data visualizations.Strong problem-solving, analytical & storytelling skills.2-3 years Technical Statistics.Proficient in Analytics, Data mining, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Mathematical Optimization & Simulation.Up to 1-year Clinical Healthcare experience.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop appropriate analytical, statistical, and algorithmic models by analyzing structured as well as semi-structured information related to descriptive, diagnostic & predictive techniques. Measured by the number of data science solutions delivered on time. Measurements will be reviewed regularly by the manager supplemented by input from the data scientist, feedback from the analytics team, and customers.Provide actionable recommendations by processing and cleaning the data through insightful visualizations & reports as well as deployment and integration of predictive models into non-EMR development and production environments. Measured by actual lift in KPI discussed with business.Adhere to standard operating procedures & coding standards set by Data Solution Center code check-in, documentation/extended properties. Measured by compliance to SOP (Standard Operating Procedures), design, development, testing, and deployment standards.Actively contribute and participate in discussions during team meetings, design & planning sessions, huddles, and roundings. Communications with customers and team members are required to be professional, timely, inclusive, considerate, and respectful. Measured by participation rate and customer service surveys.Participate in business requirements discussions with a diverse community of users including clinicians, clinical researchers, and administrators to assist with data science initiatives. Measured by participation rate and customer service surveys.Obtain & maintain training & certifications listed in the job description and/or set by the Analytics Center of Excellence for a Data Scientist. Measured by certifications, contribution to the Analytics Center of Excellence, and completed bright idea submissions.
