With world-class research, teaching and medical practice opportunities, why not choose the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine?The Department of Anesthesiology is recruiting a full time Post Doc Fellow that will be responsible for developing molecular-biology and cell-biology techniques in the pain research laboratory.Essential Functions

The candidate should have at least 5 years’ experience in the following techniques:

DNA (genomic and plasmid) isolation and purification, restriction enzyme and digestion of DNA, agarose gel electrophoresis of nucleotide, southern blot analysis, radiolabeling of nucleotide (Nick-translation and random-primed labeling techniques), non-radiolabeling of nucleotide, genomic DNA and cDNA library construction, molecule cloning and subcloning, library screening techniques, DNA sequences, RNA isolation and mRNA purification, cDNA synthesis, PCR and RT-PCR, construction of recombinant DNA molecules, cell transformation, 3'RACE system, primer extension, northern blots, in situ hybridization, RNA protection assay.The candidate should also have experience with protein assay such as Western blot, ELISA, immunoprecipitation, equilibrium binding test, SDS-PAGE analysis of protein, cell culture, immunohistochemistry.

Required Education

Doctoral Degree in the appropriate field or discipline, or the recognized terminal degree.Required Experience

In-depth knowledge of specialized field, process or discipline.May require experience with specialized software programs.Additional Qualifications Considered

Experiences in the field of pain and inflammation research are ideal.Physical Requirements/Work Environment
