INTERA Incorporated’s Air Quality Services business is looking to expand our team of talented professionals in the Houston, Texas, area. Specifically, we are seeking a Senior or Principal Air Quality Engineer / Scientist to support the management and execution of job scopes related to air quality permitting and compliance, air dispersion modeling, and other ESG-driven initiatives. Innovation and stewardship for a sustainable tomorrow , and we’re looking for a candidate who wishes to embody this both personally and professionally.Join us today!ResponsibilitiesManaging large, complex, and/or high-profile air quality projects for INTERA’s clientsIdentifying and pursuing business development opportunitiesDeveloping INTERA’s brand in the Houston and Gulf Coast marketsServing as a Trusted Advisor who develops and manages key client relationshipsUsing previous experience and advanced knowledge to analyze and interpret local, state, and federal environmental regulationsParticipate in various scientific and trade organization meetings and conventions as an ambassador of INTERAServing as an expert witness in administrative or litigation hearingsReviewing work product prepared by INTERA staff membersPerforming other duties as necessary at the direction of managementRequired QualificationsMinimum of 12-15 years of experience in air quality permitting and compliance projectsBS in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering, Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, or a related fieldDemonstrable track record of successful business development outcomesDemonstrated capability of understanding, interpreting, and applying environmental regulations and technical proficiency in practical situationsProficiency in time managementProven experience with developing and maintaining client and regulator relationships through desirable outcomes on projectsStrong written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on the ability to give and receive instructions, and give and receive constructive feedback in a positive mannerAbility to manage, mentor and/or train other INTERA staff membersAbility to work in a collaborative environment in a manner that aligns with INTERA’s culturePreferred QualificationsMS or PhD in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering, Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, or a related field5-10 years of supervisory experience5-10 years of project scoping and proposal preparation experiencePrevious project experience in air quality dispersion modeling using approved regulatory models (i.e., AERMOD, ISC-PRIME, etc.)PE license or EIT license with the goal of obtaining a PE licenseAbout INTERA & Our BenefitsFounded in 1974, INTERA has grown into an international geosciences and engineering consulting firm that helps clients make informed business decisions, mitigate risk, and drive optimal outcomes in a multitude of industries.
