Qualifications
Must have a valid Professional Educator License with Illinois State Board of Education.Must register Professional Educator License in South Cook Region 07.Must have a Special Education / Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS 1) endorsement.Reports To
Principal(s), Assistant Superintendent of Special Education and Special Services, and other administrative personnel.Terms Of Employment
Salary based on Chicago Heights School District 170 and American Federation of Teachers, AFT Local 604, Chicago Heights Council contractual agreement.Pension System
TRS.Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
Plan, organize, and provide instruction in English and in the native language of students in the Core Curriculum Content Standards, Illinois Learning Standards, and Spanish Language Arts Standards. Instruction must be consistent and coordinated with the district’s instructional program so that students meet and exceed learning targets and the requirements outlined in state and federal law.Modify grade level curriculum to address the standards along with differentiated instruction to address IEP goals and objectives.Experience writing IEP goals and objectives addressing the academic needs of students. Previous experience as a special education teacher working on a multi-disciplinary team.Ability to structure a classroom to maximize student learning.Must possess effective behavior management skills.Ability to coordinate job duties and work collaboratively with classroom assistant to address student needs.Salary:
