Position Summary:As a Staff, Data Scientist, you will be a Technical lead on Data science projects and work with marketing stakeholders to take ownership of implementation and delivery responsibilities. You will develop “intelligent” features and deliver outstanding business outcomes leveraging Experimentation, measurement and causal inference techniques.We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Marketing Experimentation Data Scientist to join our agile team of measurement data scientists, machine learning scientists, and applications engineers. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge experimentation and measurement solutions to drive high-impact marketing decisions. You will work with massive flows of data from online and offline user activity, using machine learning, data mining, and experimentation algorithms to optimize marketing campaigns and empower data-driven decision-making.What you'll do:Running large-scale statistical A/B testing to evaluate the performance of machine learning and statistical models in marketing applications which drives millions of clicks to Walmart eCommerce per day.Lead the development and implementation of methodologies for measuring the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and strategies.Develop solutions in marketing media measurement domain, including MMM, MTA, unified attribution, ROAS level testing, and various industry measurement media platforms.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and technology, to identify high-impact opportunities for experimentation and measurement.Develop and maintain advanced machine learning and data mining models to analyze and interpret large datasets from online and offline user activity.Building advanced machine learning and deep learning models with various applications in marketing, such as customer targeting and personalized recommendation.Work with massive datasets from various sources, including online advertising platforms, customer relationship management systems, and point-of-sale systems.Develop and implement data pipelines and infrastructure to support experimentation and measurement activities.Collaborate with applications engineers to design and implement scalable and maintainable solutions.Communicate insights and results to stakeholders through clear and compelling visualizations and reports.Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning, data science, and marketing technology to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.What you'll bring:At least 4 years of experience in marketing measurement and attribution, preferably in a retail or e-commerce environment.Strong understanding of statistical modeling and analysis, including regression, A/B testing, and experimentation.Strong hands-on skills in sourcing, cleaning, manipulating, and analyzing large volumes of data using distributed computing platforms (Python, R, SQL, Spark, Hive, etc.).Experienced with traditional as well as modern machine learning/statistical techniques, including A/B testing, Causal Inference, Regression, Classification, Ensemble Methods, Deep Learning, and Reinforcement Learning.Experienced with end-to-end modeling projects emerging from research efforts.You’re an inquisitive, out-of-the-box thinker who’s continually on the lookout for opportunities to improve and innovate data science solutions.You have consistently high standards; your passion for quality is inherent in everything that you do.You have the courage to fail fast.You have proven ability as a full stack data scientist who develops, optimizes, and scales models for the production environment.You connect the how and why, using your knowledge of data science theories and methodologies to derive the best approach that is fit-for-purpose.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 4 years' experience in an analytics related field.Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in an analytics related field.6 years' experience in an analytics or related field.Preferred Qualifications:Data science, machine learning, optimization models, PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics.Successful completion of one or more assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R.Using open source frameworks (for example, scikit learn, tensorflow, torch).Knowledge of accessibility best practices and joining us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.Primary Location:860 W California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086-0000, United States of America
