SMP sells its products primarily to automotive aftermarket retailers, program distribution groups, warehouse distributors, original equipment manufacturers, and original equipment service part operations in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, Mexico, and other Latin American countries.The Associate Product Manager supports the Product Manager by maintaining and developing SMP product lines for needed markets according to the company’s overall strategy and goals.Assist in research & development to meet organizational needs and to capitalize on potential new products.Approve images for assigned product lines.Keep track of requested vendor samples and RFQs (reported monthly).Provide cross-reference support to Sales & Cataloging as new SKUs are released and interchange becomes available.Update product 'want list' for future sourcing and additions.Contact local dealers & procure O.E.M. pricing, application data, and samples as required.Create Load-sheets for new SKU addition/release.Maintain SMP product lines.Maintain and develop application coverage prioritized by market and customer demands.Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experienceAutomotive experience preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated teamwork experienceRequired Computer Skills: Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and ERP systemThe estimated salary range for this position is $60,000- $70,000.Please note that the salary range provided on the job posting does not include potential bonuses and other forms of compensation and, in some cases, may fall outside the range.
