Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:

The Fayetteville State University Department of Police and Public Safety is responsible for maintaining a safe learning and working environment for our students, staff, faculty, and visitors. The Residence Hall Property Security unit operates within the Department and provides security services to the residential facilities on campus.Primary Purpose of the Position:

This position will be responsible for Property Security Officers assigned to the unit. The Property Security Supervisor will evaluate Property Security Officers' performance, designate assignments, direct resources, and provide direction and guidance to lower-ranking security officers as needed. The Property Security Supervisor will work with other supervisors to establish performance objectives for Property Security Officers. The employee will monitor the actions of Property Security Officers to ensure compliance with university and department policies and procedures. Duties include providing leadership/supervision to officers on the shift, training officers, inspecting Property Security Officers and equipment, reviewing reports and documentation completed during the shift, conducting performance reviews, administering personnel actions, and providing input concerning operational planning. Other duties may include assisting with the scheduling of Property Security Officers to ensure appropriate staffing levels and assisting Property Security Officers with completing duties during times of increased workload, staffing shortages, or as needed.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in security, enforcement, or protection work. May require valid N.C. driver's license.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
