This position requires teaching on-site with availability to teach both weekdays and evenings.Fundamentals of Microbiology with Lab (BIOS-242)This course covers basic concepts of microbiology, with emphasis on medically important microorganisms and infectious diseases. Also addressed are microscopy, microbial growth and genetics, antimicrobial agents, epidemiology, and immune system responses to pathogens. Lab exercises focus on aseptic techniques, isolation and culture of microorganisms, microscopy, and staining techniques.Courses meet on campus twice a week for eight weeks. This face-to-face interaction is blended with technology (such as online discussions and assignments) for an enhanced learning environment. Commitment is on a course-by-course basis.ResponsibilitiesDevelops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, including the terminal course objectives.Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and updates all course materials.Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and the weight distribution of various evaluation categories.Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provides timely feedback to students.Completes other duties as assigned.Complies with all policies and standards.QualificationsEarned a master's or doctorate degree with a minimum of 18 or more graduate credit hours earned directly in the field of instruction.Have taught or been told you're a "natural" at teaching and helping others learn.
