Position Summary:The Capstone College of Nursing at the University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor with an emphasis and expertise in substance use disorders and related conditions. Successful candidates will be expected to conduct and lead independent high-impact research in substance use disorders and related conditions, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and contribute to departmental and university service at a level appropriate for the rank of Assistant Professor. Potential teaching assignments range from large undergraduate sections of introductory courses to graduate, including PhD courses.

Detailed Position Information:The Capstone College of Nursing has over 2,300 students enrolled in programs leading to BSN, MSN, DNP, EdD and PhD degrees. At the MSN level, we offer concentrations for Nurse Administrators, Family Nurse Practitioners, and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners. We offer both post BSN and post MSN entry points in our DNP program. Our Joint Nursing Science PhD Program with UAH provides opportunities for doctoral level teaching and advising.

Minimum Qualifications:A research-focused doctoral degree in nursing or related field is required. Additional requirements include the ability to practice as a registered nurse in Alabama. Established program of research preferred. This is not a distance-based position. Faculty are expected to be on campus.
