on the Walla Walla Campus.The purpose of this position is to provide support for the campus food service operations. This position will support the mission of the organization by providing nutritional sustenance for staff, faculty, and the student body.General Responsibilities:Provide support for the campus food service operations.Essential Functions:Food PreparationExecute moist & dry heat cooking methodsExecute proper knife work for a variety of menu itemsPrepare sauces & dressingsFollow standardized recipes, measurement, and portion controlPrepare grab-n-go sandwiches and saladsPrepare baked goods; follow par inventory listsCashier & Customer ServiceTake customer ordersExecute sales transactionsHelp answer customer questionsMaintain a positive and helpful demeanor towards all customersMaintain a working knowledge of the POS systemCleaning and SanitationFollow all opening & closing checklistsClean & sanitize all equipment, tables and floors on a daily basisClean & sanitize all soiled dishes and utensils using the dish machine or three-compartment sinkKeep all hand towel stations and soap dispensers fullMaintain proper personal hygieneInventory ControlStock all coolers with proper itemsFollow the FIFO rule when rotating stockManage dry, refrigerated and frozen storage areasConsolidate and refresh stock on a daily basisMonitor all critical control points throughout the flow of food for cross-contamination and time-temperature abuse preventionA La Carte ProductionPrepare made to order food items when requiredCompetenciesExcellent customer service skillsAbility to work as a team memberAbility to handle equipment used in food service preparationWorks well with others in a professional mannerRequired Qualifications:Six months' clerical, food counter, or retail sales experienceGraduation from high school or GED may substitute for experience. OR Equivalent education/experienceCustomer service experienceWashington State Food Handlers Permit requiredConditions/Terms of EmploymentThis part-time temporary position (up to 17-hours per week) is located at the Walla Walla Campus, with a flexible schedule Monday-Friday. Constant contact with staff and students.Combination of sitting, walking, standing, bending, stooping, or carrying light objectsMust be able to relocate objects up to 40lbs. with or without the use of hand trucks, dollies and other aidsVacation, sick leave and personal leave benefits are available on a pro-rated basis.
