Overview

The EHS Specialist works with the Environmental Health and Safety Manager to plan, direct, and implement environmental health and safety programs to ensure a positive, safe, healthy, and incident-free work environment. Areas of specialty for this position will focus on OSHA compliance and implementing and supporting the EHS management systems in Chino, CA manufacturing plant. This position would also respond to emergency situations when they arise.

Responsibilities

Support EHS Manager with all EHS compliance activities.Investigate all incidents and track the timely completion of corrective actions.Generate EHS alerts and support EHS Management System, including reporting and maintaining EHS data, generating reports, tracking EHS metrics, and identifying trends and solutions to improve EHS performance.Conduct and coordinate EHS training and track its timely completion.Support the Safety Committee and its related activities.Support worker's compensation claim reporting and case management follow-up, including the Return-to-Work Program.Develop Safety Procedures to reduce risks and develop solutions to eliminate workplace hazards including JHA’s, Lock Out Tagout, etc.Monitor Environmental Recordkeeping requirements to verify proper completion and conduct periodic audits.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, sciences, environmental health, or related field.2-5 years’ experience.Demonstrated working knowledge of OSHA requirements.Excellent computer skills in MS Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and can work in a team environment.Must be a self-starter. Must be able to multi-task and respond to multiple issues at a time.Must be able to prioritize work and responsibilities. Must enjoy working with people, responding to employee requests, concerns, and issues, and have excellent follow-up skills.Hands-on position.

Closing Date: 10/28/2024The salary range of $55,055 - $105,875 is just one component of Hussmann’s total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.
