Responsibilities will include managing projects and tasks related to various air quality measurements and monitoring projects, including near-road monitoring, oil and gas monitoring, methods research, exposure investigations, source testing, and other air-related sampling and tracking events. The individual will be required to engineer, design, build, test, and utilize equipment for air sampling and monitoring. They will also need the capability to write work plans, quality assurance project plans, health and safety plans, and reports for work being performed by ERG. Traveling to sites for air-related sampling and monitoring will be at most twenty-five to thirty percent. Mechanical and fabrication skills are essential to this role.Job Description:

Lead air quality measurement studies across the country in support of EPA air quality monitoring researchTest, calibrate, troubleshoot, deploy, and maintain air quality monitoring instrumentationProcess field data using R, MATLAB, or PythonConduct other related tasks involved in air quality research projects, including presentations and publishing research papersSuccessfully complete all required annual safety trainingSupport equipment repair, calibration, and maintenanceQualifications and Skills:

A B.S. degree in Environmental/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related fieldAn aptitude and interest in science, technical work, mechanical equipment, and air qualityProficient in instrumentation installation, calibration, testing, and operationAbility and willingness to travel 25-50% of the timeAbility to work in outdoor field settingsCapability to pass background checks and initial and random drug screeningExperience with onsite air-related monitoring and samplingExperience with writing technical documentsExperience with designing and fabricating electronic equipment and hardwareExperience in a mechanical, laboratory, science, etc. is preferredKnowledge of EPA source test methods/procedures, air quality or emission monitors, etc. preferredStrong organizational and communication skillsERG offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, educational benefits, FSAs, a generous 401k plan, profit sharing, an EAP, 11-20 paid vacation days per year, 10 paid holidays per year, 56 hours or more of sick leave (based on the state you work in) per year (pro-rated for part-time) and more.
