Position:

Second (2nd) Yard Driver

Shift:

Monday - Friday 2:30pm – 11:00pm

Pay:

$23.95 per hour

Shift Differential:

Add $1.00

Additional Incentives:

All full-time employees are eligible to qualify for monthly performance and performance incentive bonuses!

Other tasks will include warehouse operations, handling customer products while operating industrial powered equipment, including forklifts. This may involve case/pallet handling, loading/unloading trailers.

Role Purpose:

Drives switching equipment, tractors, and straight trucks to transport goods or equipment to and from designated locations. Makes decisions in sequencing schedule to maintain efficient loading and unloading operations. Loads and unloads trailers and verifies product count. Maintains a clean and safe docking area and reports any maintenance or safety issues to supervision. Refuels vehicles on site and documents locations and condition of equipment.

Key Accountabilities:

Maintain safe and efficient dock operation by switching trailers and equipment to and from docks.

Maintain equipment fuel levels and refuel equipment during appropriate times.

Load and unload trucks, verifying the count and condition of product. Report overages, shortages, and damages.

Perform daily yard checks.

Properly secure loads, ensuring loads are within local, state, and federal guidelines.

Prepare and maintain accurate records and/or logs as required by policies and procedures.

Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water. Notify supervision of current or anticipated repair needs.

Comply with all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Required Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Minimum of one year verifiable experience driving, switching, or commercial tractor
