It was founded in 1991 as Women’s Studies, and renamed in 2013. We explore the roles gender and sexuality play in human experiences, through interdisciplinary, international, and intersectional approaches, in teaching, research and public service.Position SummaryThe Program of Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies at William & Mary seeks applications for a jointly appointed tenure track position at the Associate Professor level. The successful candidate will serve as Director of the Program, with obligations shared between Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies (75%) and a tenure home department (25%). Appointment will begin August 10, 2025. We are interested in individuals with experience in academic leadership, and research and teaching in interdisciplinary gender, feminist, queer and/or sexuality studies at the intersections of race, ethnicity, religion, and/or disability. Successful applicants will develop and implement a sustainable, innovative and inclusive vision for the program’s growth, establish and maintain a robust research program, and mentor undergraduate research.
