Full-timeEurofins Scientific is an international life sciences company, providing a unique range of analytical testing services to clients across multiple industries, to make life and our environment safer, healthier and more sustainable.General Manager/Business Unit Manager (BUMa) Responsibilities:Lead team, schedule, and train employeesEnsure adherence to highest quality and efficiency standards in laboratory operationsEnsure coverage and performanceFoster morale and teamworkDemonstrates and promotes the company visionRegular attendance and punctualityManage the technical conduct, quality control, and related record keeping of all analytical evaluations performedSupervise, organize, and coordinate all technical activities of personnelProvide necessary planning, organization, direction, and control to meet company goalsEnsure adherence to company health, safety, and environmental programsEstablish and maintain professional business relationships with clientsAssist in the generation of marketing strategies and prepare comprehensive technical work proposalsProvide input toward the financial growth and development of the companyCoordinate business activities with other Business Unit ManagersResponsible for overall operational success of the laboratoryOversee daily operations including laboratory, quality, logistics, and managerial dutiesRepresent the laboratory in technical meetingsParticipate with the Sales/Marketing team in preparing quotations for major technical studiesPropose major investments to company executivesEnsure laboratory expenses are on track with the annual budgetApprove major expenses and control costs within established guidelinesAnalyze monthly laboratory indicatorsVerify compliance with company employment policiesPerform annual performance reviewsHandle employee relation issuesCoordinate interaction between different laboratory departmentsUnderstand and follow each Quality System document relevant to employment responsibilitiesConduct all activities in a safe and efficient mannerPerform other duties as assignedEducation:Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience.Experience:At least 10 years of supervisory experienceAt least 10 years professional experience in laboratory operationsFamiliarity with laboratory operations and servicesFamiliarity with EPA, DOT, OSHA, and DOL regulationsExcellent verbal and written skillsStrong customer relations skillsAbility to manage a business at a profit/loss responsibility levelAbility to control operating budgetsAbility to develop and enforce policies and operating practicesAbility to prioritize and delegate responsibilitiesAbility to successfully handle contract and other negotiationsProblem-solving abilitiesWe support your development!
