The Family Medicine Residency Program at East Tennessee State University, Quillen College of Medicine seeks a board-certified/eligible MD or DO colleague to join our team of educators. The qualified faculty physician will provide educational support in the division of Sports Medicine and will lead the effort to create a Fellowship in Sports Medicine. Clinical care will consist of forty (40%) percent effort and will occur at the Ballad Sports Medicine Clinic.The Department’s clinical centers utilize an integrated, inter-professional approach to healthcare and serve a diverse patient population unique to the Appalachian region. We are a well-established 6-6-6 community-based residency program accredited by the ACGME with a supportive hospital affiliation.Essential Functions:

Serving as a Sports Medicine primary care physician for patients in the clinic, providing patient-centered care, and performing administrative duties. Other roles will include role modeling, teaching, and mentoring residents, medical students, and inter-professional students who may rotate through the clinic. Also, participate in the creation and development of Sports Medicine educational programs including obtaining Fellowship status.The position is contingent upon external funding. Faculty rank commensurate with education and experience. Some appointments may be eligible for tenure. At the time of hire, applicants must be eligible for licensure in Tennessee and must have completed an accredited Family Medicine residency program and Sports Medicine Fellowship.An unencumbered DEA license is required at the time of hire.MD/DO ABFM Board-certified or Board Eligible at the time of hire is required.Preferred Qualifications

Previous clinical experience.Previous teaching experience preferred.Salary
