Environmental and Safety Solutions is looking for an experienced safety professional to lead and support the environmental, health, safety, and security at an East Providence, RI facility. Responsibilities include directing EHS activities at the location, internal reporting of EHS performance, communication of and compliance with national/state/local regulatory requirements, assuring accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics, ensuring closure of audit and regulatory agency findings on a timely basis, along with completion of required training for EHS and other site personnel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Support site in achieving EHS targets & objectives while creating a Zero Incident Safety Culture. Support development, maintenance, and achievement of goals supporting corporate and business group EHS strategic initiatives. Facilitate the establishment & engagement of the EHS Audit team in ownership of the various elements.

Facilitates EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year.

Works with the leadership team and audit element champions to complete an annual compliance evaluation for EHS national, state, and local regulations.

Uses established EHS data processes such as Audit Prism to manage data such as injuries and illnesses, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EHS action items, and other pertinent information.

Manages the OSHA employee Right-to-Know and EPA Community Right-to-Know and Facility Risk Management programs. Conducts various training programs to meet regulatory requirements and assists in training new employees on EHS.

Prepares reports, plans, and other government EHS filings and ensures timely and accurate submission.

Evaluate jobs for possible ergonomic improvements (body mechanics, lifts, hoists, manipulators, etc.) and implement these work design changes.

Coordinates all OSHA compliance programs and manages existing aspects of the site's environmental programs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Experienced EHS Specialist with 5-10 years of EH&S experience in a manufacturing setting.

College degree in occupational safety/environmental science or certification from a recognized certification body in the practice of occupational safety.

Local candidates only.

Computer literacy is a must!

Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite, and the potential to learn other utility software packages that are unique to the customer.

Possible to result in a Temp to hire! Per diem will be applied if the right candidate is outside of the local area.
