Job DescriptionPosition : Academic Tutor (1:1 and small groups)
Job Type : Part-Time (August- June), In-Person, Grades K-12 available
Pay : $25-$50 per hour
Location : Pacific Palisades and surrounding areas (West LA, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Malibu, Brentwood, Sherman Oaks and others)
Overview :
Do you want to impact students' lives, earn outstanding pay, and have fun simultaneously? We seek top-notch academic tutors to support our K-12th-grade students in several areas, including Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies. The ideal tutors are knowledgeable, experienced, and professional, making learning fun, engaging, and able to work with a high degree of autonomy.
Key Responsibilities :
Design and implement engaging and fun lesson plans tailored to various academic levels.
Establish academic goals and milestones with students.
Document and communicate progress reports.
Provide a supportive and motivating environment for students to thrive academically.
Keep the work/classroom environment organized and clean.
Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree (Teaching Credentials are a plus).
Minimum of 2-5 years of teaching/tutoring experience.
Reliable transportation - the ability to arrive at work on time.
Proficiency with California Math and English Language Standards.
Fun, upbeat personality with strong interpersonal skills.
Passion for teaching and learning.
Impeccable time management and organizational skills.
Ability to work with students who learn differently, including those with ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)/mild, and gifted learners (experience working with neurodiverse students is a plus).
Patience and empathy to support students facing various academic and personal challenges.
Respect for students' cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, promoting an inclusive and supportive environment.
Must pass a background check.
Excellent references.
Commitment to working from August to June.
