Position Responsibility Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight, aligned with Global EHS & Sustainability for occupational health, safety, hygiene, occupational medicine, environmental, and sustainability issues, including federal, state, and local compliance to regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for designing, monitoring, and auditing the Environmental Control System, which must meet the requirements established by Federal, State, and Local regulations.

Maintain in-depth knowledge of existing and proposed local, state, and Federal regulations.

Maintain site-specific EHS program and plans in accordance with state and federal regulations and company expectations.

Manage site environmental health and safety teams, including the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the site Safety, Ergonomic, and Environmental Committee.

Use every opportunity to drive EHS awareness by demonstrating safe behavior, continuous self-development, and education in areas of environmental, health & safety compliance, industry trends, and regulatory developments.

Develop site-specific roadmap in line with corporate sustainability strategy and goals.

Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Desired Licensing and/or Experience for this Position:

OSHA 45001, ISO9001, ISO14001-2015, CSP, CIH, HAZ, VPP

Desired Education for this Position:

Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Science Management, Environmental Science Management, or Environmental Engineering.

Desired Qualifications for this Position:

3-5 years of experience in a similar manufacturing/industrial environment with practical experience with Health and Safety standards and procedures in a manufacturing setting.

Experience in obtaining and maintaining OHSAS certification.

Strong analytical skills and proven success in managing vendors.

Ability to work and engage with all levels of stakeholders.

Ability to deliver internal health and safety management courses.

Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify causes and determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.

Maintain compliance with all applicable Waste, Water, and Air regulations through required preventative maintenance of the equipment, recordkeeping, preparation of reports, and activity plans.

Serve as EHS lead to site staff, employees, and EHS committees that will continue to drive a strong EHS culture.

Drive EHS compliance through audits, process/equipment review, proactive risk elimination, and track corrective actions to closure.

Coordinate and conduct EHS training for employees, contractors, and visitors as needed.

Compile periodic reports to HQ, working cooperatively with EHS and HQ on various simplification and risk reduction projects.

Ability and willingness to perform essential physical requirements in order to maintain compliance with regulations and business expectations.
