UHS Corporate Insurance Department

is hiring a Senior Corporate Risk Manager-Behavioral Health to provide analysis and oversight of patient safety functions in the Behavioral Health Division.Key Responsibilities include:Ensures ongoing TERM program effectiveness within each UHS facility. Oversees and provides supervision of BH facility risk management site visits. Oversees the completion of facility TERM site visits and reports; provides direction ensuring specific facility risk issues and potential problem areas are identified, and provides direction for follow-up corrective action plans.Analyzes facility risk management reports including incident (HPR) reports/logs, PCRs, Sarbanes Oxley and responses to disseminated Corporate initiatives. Provides guidance, oversight and direction for addressing and preventing risk issues, trends and patterns. Monitors completion and submission of PCR related documents, including Peer Review, plans of correction, RCAs, Intensive Analysis, etc. for all level III/IV PCRs and ensures all required PCR information is accurate and provided in a timely manner.Oversees implementation of Patient Safety Council process and reporting, assists facilities in identifying specific risk issues and appropriate corrective actions, acts as a resource for the PSC and provides relevant risk-related reference materials and direction as needed.Assists the facility Risk Managers and Corporate Staff in defining, collecting and analyzing Patient Safety Work Product within the guidelines of the Patient Safety Evaluation System while adhering to documentation practices outlined by the Patient Safety Organization.Develops and monitors the monthly SOX report to include the Behavioral Health Division, Horizon’s Management Company and/or divested UHS facilities.Oversees the development and monitors Patient Safety Work Product Dashboards.Ensures all reports are accurate and timely.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and/or healthcare licensure with a minimum of 8 -10 years of experience in a related healthcare and/or management/administrative field is required. A Master’s Degree in a healthcare related field is preferred.Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in health care organization with increasing responsibility in risk prevention and risk management with progressive achievement.Possess critical thinking skills and independent analysis of identified problems, effectively problem solves utilizing appropriate resources for corrective actions.Comprehensive knowledge of risk identification and prevention techniques. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.Effective administrative, management, and supervision skills.Ability to manage and motivate facility based staff, using effective interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.Effective problem solving, persuasion, and negotiation techniques.Knowledge of Behavioral Health healthcare facility operations, functions, and staffing requirements.Knowledge of medical/professional staff by-laws and governing board issues.Knowledge of insurance and loss control theory and practice in a healthcare environment.Knowledge and understanding of the principles and procedures for the investigation and processing of professional liability/medical malpractice claims.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to interpret data and translate abstract concepts into tangible information.Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, applicable state licensure and accreditation laws and regulations.Knowledge and skills with use of computer and various software products (i.e. Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, MIDAS, STARS, etc.)Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.Frequent travel to assigned facilities and other locations as deemed necessary to accomplish goals of the department/corporation.
