No matter their individual role, each of our employees plays a vital part in bringing SiriusXM’s vision to life every day.How you’ll make an impact:Responsible for assisting with production and operations of SiriusXM’s bipartisan politics and news channel, called POTUS. Must be able to quickly respond to needs within a live studio environment, working closely with the Talent and Producers, running the sound board, screening calls, and handling pre- and post-production duties. Additional duties include pulling/editing audio clips, posting clips to social media, and helping with pre-recorded interviews.What you’ll do:Prepares show elements/news clips before LIVE show, then operates sound board for LIVE showScreens listener calls into daily live talk showsPulls news clips and sound bites before, during and after broadcastImplements daily tasks assigned from the Producer and Talent to meet broadcast deadlinesWorks closely with live talent/host, communicates breaks, news clips, guest information etc. in timely direct mannerAssists Producer with setting up pre-taped interviews and pre-show editing.Works with Producers to create/edit "Best of..." programs from archives of past shows for weekend or special re-broadcasting needsMay provide host with news updates and breaking stories in real timeWhat you’ll need:BS/BA Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in politics/news preferredSolid experience running an audio board (internship or college experience will suffice.)Knowledge of broadcast systems and in-person experience with daily LIVE radio showsFamiliarity with politics and proficient journalism skillsAbility to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; ability to work under deadline pressureInterpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levelsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAbility to pay attention to details and be organizedAbility to project a professional image over the phone and in personWillingness to take initiative and to follow through on projectsMust have legal right to work in the U.S.Our goal at SiriusXM is to provide and maintain a work environment that fosters mutual respect, professionalism and cooperation.
