Plant ManagerPurpose of the Position:The Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, overseeing, and continuously improving all aspects of the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental programs. This includes ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, fostering a culture of safety, and minimizing the environmental impact of company operations. The HSE Manager will work closely with all departments to promote a safe and sustainable workplace.Major Duties & Responsibilities:Design and implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.Create and update safety policies, procedures, and training materials.Establish goals and objectives for HSE performance and track progress against these goals.Define, source, and implement effective procedures to reduce plant accident/incident rating.Regulatory Compliance:Monitor changes in HSE regulations and ensure the company's compliance with all applicable laws and standards.Prepare and submit required environmental and safety reports to regulatory agencies.Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with internal and external HSE requirements.Risk Management:Identify and assess potential hazards in the workplace and implement control measures to mitigate risks.Lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.Manage the company's emergency response plan and ensure readiness for potential emergencies.Ensure compliance with regulatory topics related to employee Health and Safety.Training and Development:Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees at all levels of the organization.Ensure that all employees are informed of their responsibilities related to health, safety, and environmental protection.Provide guidance and support to Leaders in implementing HSE practices in their departments.Environmental Stewardship:Promote sustainable practices within the company, including waste reduction, resource conservation, and pollution prevention.Oversee environmental impact assessments and implement measures to minimize the company's environmental footprint.Collaborate with stakeholders to improve the company's environmental performance.Reporting and Communication:Influences on expense budget related to Health, Safety, and Environmental.Support and provide input on CAPEX plan related to Health and Safety.Communicate HSE expectations and updates to all employees through regular meetings, bulletins, and other channels.Additional Responsibilities:Prepare and present HSE performance reports to senior management.Develop support for capital projects where appropriate.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, and/or Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent education and experience.3-5 years of Health and Safety experience in a manufacturing environment.In-depth knowledge of Health and Safety legislation/regulations.Strong leadership skills including effective communication and interpersonal skills.Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Must be able to travel up to 25%.Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and walk to communicate and listen effectively.Environmental Concerns:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to cold temperatures in a refrigerated cooler or freezer, and also wet environments in wash down areas.EOE - Vet/Disability
