EnerSys/ABSL is the world-leading manufacturer of Lithium-ion batteries for satellite and spacecraft applications. As part of an ongoing expansion program, we are seeking talented individuals who have the self-motivation and desire to become world-leaders in their field to join our office in Longmont Colorado.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop environmental, health, safety, and security procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, federal and corporate requirements. Recommends course of action and develop procedures for compliance with new and revised laws, rules, and regulations.• Responsible for all required reports to regulatory agencies. Maintains all related records and documents. Interact both verbally and in writing with required agencies.• Responsible for OSHA, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste, air programs, internal audits, transportation, training, and others as required.• Maintain current certification and knowledge of regulatory environment through attendance at workshops and seminars and the review of The Code of Federal Regulations, The Federal Register and other literature as appropriate.• Acts as the plant liaison with the local community, regulatory agencies, and other outside agencies.• Standardize EAS EHS Policies, Procedures, and Training.• Perform Job Hazard Analysis and statistical analysis of all incidents and accidents.• Develop and present training materials in accordance with CFR 29, Parts 1910, 1903, 1904; CFR 49 DOT.• Proficiency in Hazmat procedures.• Manage/administer security program.• Manage worker compensation programs.• Manage property and casualty insurance auditing and reporting activities.• Conduct employee, general contractor (GC), and subcontractor safety orientations and safety meetings.• Chair safety committee meetings to discuss issues, trends, and goals.• Conduct meetings with 3rd party auditors such as fire marshals, OSHA, EPA, and insurance auditors.• Respond to formal OSHA, EPA, and DOT investigations and participate in hearings.• Oversee first responder/medical emergency program.• Perform required audits on disposal facilities and other contracted services where debris or waste is regulated.• Maintain all permits in accordance with EPA, city, and county regulations. Perform annual audits of air and water permits to ensure continued compliance.Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or 2 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.• Experience in Lithium battery manufacturing highly desired.• OSHA 10/30 Hour Trainer in General Industry (OTI 501) certification required.• Hazmat certification.• Workers Compensation experience.• Emergency First Responder with CPR and AED certification within 60 days of employment.• RCRA Hazardous Waste Certified.• DOT Hazardous Materials Certified.• Microsoft: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook experience.General Job Requirements
