Senior Scientist – Product Development

Sepax Technologies, Inc. seeks a highly motivated and creative scientist who can work independently or with a team and develop new analytical chromatographic products. The Principal Scientist will analyze market trends and develop HPLC products to meet customers’ new separation needs. This full-time exempt position is based at our headquarter office located in Newark, Delaware.

Requirements:

PhD degree in material science, chemistry, biochemistry, or related disciplines.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in synthetic chemistry.

Expertise in polymer/silica surface modification.

Excellent and effective oral and written communication skills, along with multi-tasking skills.

Excellent organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail and confidentiality.

Positive attitude with ability to work well in a group environment.

Proficient computer skills to utilize Microsoft software and an ERP system for day-to-day operations.

Ability to communicate results of experiments through proper record keeping.

Physically fit to stand, bend and twist with the ability to lift 40 pounds.

Responsibilities:

Lead the new product development for analytical chromatographic applications.

Collaborate with application scientists to develop application notes for current and new products.

Stay up-to-date on scientific literature in analytical chromatography along with market trends.

Work with sales and customers to find new opportunities.

Maintain record keeping in notebooks and logs that are proper, thorough, and legible.

Utilize and maintain the ERP system to optimize daily departmental functions.

Performance of general housekeeping maintenance throughout the laboratory and tidiness in work areas.

Observe safety precautions as outlined in safety manuals and training.
