POSITION SUMMARY:The Specialty Instructor will plan, format and instruct classes. The Instructor will be instructing and evaluating our program to ensure a safe and fun environment for the participants, in addition to other duties and responsibilities assigned at will as seen fit by the Director.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Works with their supervisor to develop and implement age appropriate developmental curriculum; implements age appropriate enrichment activities according to the weekly plan.Maintain a clean, fun and engaging environment inside the program while on duty.Establish positive family communication and teach new skills including building relationships, social skills, independence, and self-reliance skills.Provide an engaging and fun experience.Encourage and deliver positive values and build developmental assets.Be responsible for the safety of youth and staff while reducing and managing risk.Mentor and coach youth and peers; supervise program area; implement program curriculum that supports trying new and diverse activities as well as healthy lifestyle choices.Commit to staying current with youth development conversations and models through continued training.Performs other duties as assigned.WORK ENVIRONMENT:The physical demands of the position include:Visual and auditory ability to observe and respond to critical incidents.Physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation.Ability to lead and interact in group activities and perform related physical skills.Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Ability to climb, push, and pull.Ability to lift and carry objects up to 35 pounds.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of two (2) years progressive experience in the desired field.Excellent communication skills.Energetic, Driven, Creative.Ability to manage various age groups within a class setting.Certified in Infant, Child, and Adult CPR and Basic First Aid (or certified within 30 days of hire).SALARY RANGE:
