Learning and Training Facilitator

is responsible for training and mentoring our factory employees on their assigned skills as a machine-, warehouse-, or sanitation worker. Additionally, the person is responsible for managing the train the trainer program within operations, including the assessment and development of trainees & trainers, to meet business objectives. They will work closely with the training team including Program Manager, Instructional Designer, Training and Staffing Specialist, plant trainers, but also factory employees and Supervisors to meet training deliverables and goals.Scope of Responsibilities

Develops and coaches a team of plant & maintenance assessors to train, recruit and evaluate new employees as part of the train the trainer program.Trains and mentors hourly trainees to develop their skills on their specific machine/job.Assists in the research and monitoring of training needs of trainees and makes recommendations for alternative training techniques/initiatives.Uses measurable approach to trainer improvement. Schedules, coordinates, implements, and evaluates operations-wide training for employees based on gap analysis.Understands how to use skills matrix, evaluation checklists/assessments and job breakdowns or similar tools and uses these for trainings and training evaluation.Develops and implements innovative and effective training approaches to adult learning.Advises and collaborates with cross-functional teams in order to align training efforts with all departments supporting Operations.Uses known education principles and stays up-to-date on new training methods and techniques.Participates in the TPM Training & Education Pillar to ensure operational, supervisory and managerial training activities throughout the plant contribute to driving out losses.Subject matter expert for Training & Education Pillar for training techniques.Able to communicate training vision to others and the ability to engage people in training initiatives is essential.Ensure that training conducted for plant improvement projects flows into the training system seamlessly for successful implementation and sustainment of improvements.Performs training and workshops for Supervisor, Team Lead, Trainer and Operator development based on identified skill gaps and department requests.Manages and maintains in-house training facilities and equipment.Supports training team to update & create training materials if needed.Supports training team to manage and maintain Learning Platforms, to update curriculum database and training records.Supports training & staffing team with onboarding of new plant employees.Completes special projects and other admin duties as assigned as necessary.Specific Knowledge & Skills

2-4 years of experience training, assessing and developing trainers and factory workers and working with learning and training techniques.Machine operating skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong skills in influencing and coordinating people.Ability to set expectations and hold employees accountable.Ability to set priorities and to be self-disciplined and consistent.Excellent written and oral communications skills.Strong ability to facilitate trainings in small and large groups.Ability to develop and implement action steps and follow through with the people responsible for them.Ability to identify training needs through analysis and to define programs for training of the trainers & trainees.Strong Microsoft Office, Word, and PowerPoint skills. Intermediate Excel skills.Strong interpersonal, planning, decision-making, delegation and training process skills.Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the plant.Hands-on experience coordinating multiple training events in a corporate setting and ideally Union environment.Experience in a manufacturing environment.Experience with learning management software a plus.Other Job Requirements

Required to regularly sit, stand and walk.Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.This position must be able to concentrate for extended periods of time paying close attention to detail.This position must be flexible to work on different shifts for training purposes.Potential for very warm or very cold working environment/depending on area of assignment.Salary Range
