Location: Hartford, ConnecticutJob Type: Full-timeDescription:The Club Director will ensure age-appropriate programs and services are provided in a safe and nurturing environment while helping youth advance in three core focus areas of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford: (a) academic success, (b) healthy lifestyles, and (c) good character & citizenship. The Club Director will manage every aspect of the club site and building while maintaining a culture focused on integrity, teamwork, trust, empathy, respect, and inclusion.Key Job Responsibilities:Establish Clubhouse program objectives consistent with organizational goals, mission, and vision.Oversee the provision of day-to-day program activities per established standards and goals.Ensure proper data collection and accurate reporting on program and service delivery and outcomes.Encourage members to participate in a variety of programs and receive constructive feedback.Recruit, onboard, manage, and provide career development opportunities for club staff, interns, and volunteers.Conduct ongoing performance evaluations of staff and create development plans.Ensure a productive work environment that encourages positive working relationships.Maintain a crisis management strategy and ensure emergency procedures are practiced.Ensure a healthy, fun, and safe environment by maintaining facilities and equipment.Attend and actively participate in Club Director meetings.Maintain close contact with Club professional staff and members.Serve as an advocate and coordinator between the Club and external partners.Develop and maintain public relations to promote the Club.Contribute to operational strategic planning and program evaluation.Conduct regular staff meetings and recruit community and parent council meetings.Oversee and implement all assigned grants.Work with Finance to prepare and implement the annual budget.Research, evaluate, and propose new equipment and resources.Perform other program and organization-related assignments as needed.Transport youth in BGCH vehicles as required.Plan and implement special events and initiatives.Supervisory Responsibility:Manages all full-time staff in the Clubhouse and may manage volunteers and interns.Expected Hours of Work:September – early June: Monday through Friday 12:00 pm to 8:00 pmLate June – August: Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pmOccasional morning, evening, and weekend work will be required.Equal Opportunity Employer:The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford is an equal opportunity employer, committed to inclusion and diversity.Requirements:Four-year degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.Demonstrated ability in facilities management.Ability to train, supervise, and motivate staff.Excellent communication and writing skills.Flexibility, patience, and willingness to learn new skills.Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office products.CPR & First Aid certification.PSL endorsement on a valid CT driver’s license is required or must be obtained within six months of employment.Ability to travel in and outside of the state for training or programs.Strong sense of child safety.Working knowledge of budget preparation preferred.Bilingual skills in both English and Spanish a plus.
