The Department of World Languages & Cultures at NC State provides students with a broad understanding of the rich and varied cultures of our globe, built on solid competence in the language(s) chosen.At the undergraduate level, the Department offers majors in Arabic, Asian Languages (Chinese, Japanese & Hindi/Urdu), French, German Studies, and Spanish. Students can pursue a B.A. Degree in French, German, Spanish, or Chinese Education. Minors are also offered in multiple languages.At the graduate level, we have an M.A. program in World Languages & Cultures with concentrations in French and Spanish, incorporating literature, linguistics, and culture courses.The successful candidate(s) will teach undergraduate courses in World Languages & Cultures according to departmental needs and employee knowledge, skills, and ability. Appointments may be available part-time for Summer 2024 and/or the 2024-2025 Academic Year, with the possibility of renewal.Minimum Education and Experience:Lecturer: Master’s degree, an equivalent degree, or equivalent education and/or professional experience. A Bachelor’s degree plus 18 graduate credit hours will also be considered.Assistant Teaching Professor: PhD is necessary for rank.Other Required Qualifications:Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.Must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching.Preferred Qualifications:Instruction experience and proof of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level are preferred.Required License(s) or Certification(s):
