Teaching assignments may be on the main campus or at off-campus sites and clinical agencies within our region.Job DescriptionTypical duties include but are not limited to:Teach theory, laboratory, or clinical courses in the Graduate Nursing ProgramProvide professional mentoring to studentsContribute to course and/or curriculum developmentFunction as an effective, active, and collegial team memberRequired QualificationsEarned doctorate in Nursing or a closely related field from a regionally-accredited institution or equivalent accreditationGraduate degree in Nursing with an area of specialization in Nursing from a nationally-accredited nursing program and regionally-accredited Institution or equivalent accreditationBSN degree in Nursing from a nationally-accredited nursing program and regionally-accredited Institution or equivalent accreditationMinimum of five years of nursing practice experienceCurrent unrestricted RN; or APRN licensure or eligibility for RN or APRN licensure in the state of FloridaCurrent BLS certification for healthcare providers or equivalentPreferred QualificationsFamily Nurse Practitioner, CRNA, or other advanced practice national certificationNurse Educator CertificationExperience teaching in the clinical settingCertification or experience in high fidelity simulationExperience with the development and delivery of on-line courseworkKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDemonstrated expertise in nursing knowledge and clinical practiceStrong communication skillsDemonstrated time management skillsStrong computer skills using web-based applications and Microsoft OfficeUnderstanding of and commitment to maintaining standards and regulatory requirements in nursing practiceActively collaborates both within and outside the University in the development and delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learningCompetence in the use of technology in teaching and distance learningSpecial Instructions to ApplicantsAppointments will be made on a semester basis.
