S&ME is seeking highly experienced and technical environmental engineer or geologist to join our growing and thriving team in Raleigh, NC taking on a client facing and project leadership role as an
Environmental Project Manager . Our Raleigh office is comprised of over 100 dedicated engineers, scientists, geologists, industrial hygienists, technicians, project managers and more with 20+ of those focused on environmental projects and we're growing!
About The Role:
As an Environmental Project Manager, you'll take the lead on environmental projects, delivering exceptional service to clients in sectors like public works, manufacturing, energy, and real estate. Your role will involve a mix of both fieldwork and office responsibilities as you conduct environmental site assessments, remedial investigations, permitting, and reporting. You'll collaborate with clients, contractors, regulators, and local officials to ensure project success while adhering to environmental laws and sustainable practices.
Lead Projects:
Independently manage projects from start to finish, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and sustainable business practices.
Field Operations:
Plan and oversee field investigations, including drilling, sampling, and data collection. Lead field teams and ensure effective project execution.
Technical Expertise:
Perform technical computations, verify calculations, analyze laboratory data, and offer recommendations for remediation and compliance.
Client Engagement:
Collaborate with clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and government officials to ensure seamless project completion.
Report Preparation:
Coordinate and prepare detailed reports in line with company standards and industry best practices.
Proposal Development:
Develop project scopes and fee proposals to win profitable and successful projects.
What You Bring:
A Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology or related field
4+ years of environmental consulting experience
Professional licensure (PG or PE) in North Carolina, or ability to obtain
Knowledge of environmental sampling and testing methods, as well as federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
Experience interacting with regulatory agencies/representatives
OSHA 1910.120 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training
Ability to travel and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
