We are looking for a passionate and dedicated

Principal Environmental Specialist

to join our Ecology group in Parsippany, New Jersey. This position provides excellent growth opportunity for candidates to work with a team of diverse professionals on a variety of projects in the public and private sector. The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of experience in:Managing complex environmental projectsPreparing environmental permits in New Jersey/New YorkPreparing proposals and project budgets; assisting with marketing and Business DevelopmentLeading wetland field investigations, delineations and functional value assessmentsLeading threatened and endangered floral and faunal habitat assessments and targeted species surveysPreparing technical studies and reportsPreparing wetland and ecological permit applications in accordance with Federal and state requirements with emphasis on New York and New Jersey regulationsPreparing NEPA and NJ Executive Order 215 EIS, EA and CED documentsCompiling scope and fee for projects and or tasksAssigning tasks, communicating task expectations, and tracking status of assigned tasksCompleting project tasks within deadlines and working within allotted project budgetsResponsible for QA/QC processMonitoring and managing project finances monthlyAssisting with mentoring junior environmental staffMarketing NV5 environmental capabilitiesQualifications

Bachelor's degree in environmental science, ecology, botany, wildlife management, natural resources, or related field12+ years of relevant experienceCertified Wildlife Biologist or Professional Wetland Scientist preferred, but not requiredStrong northeastern flora and fauna identification skillsCapable of leading wetland delineationsAble to lead threatened and endangered species habitat assessments and targeted surveysExperience with US Army Corps of Engineers, New Jersey and New York permittingExperience working on NYDOT and NJDOT projects preferableStrong technical writing and communication skillsExperience in managing junior staff, tasks and projectsMust possess or be able to obtain a valid driver's license prior to employmentNV5 offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, PTO, 401(k) and professional development/advancement opportunities.The pay range for this New York position is $80,000- $100,000 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
