Position OverviewThe Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures at The Ohio State University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or Early Career Associate Professor in Korean literary studies for the Dr. Chris Lee Endowed Professorship. Applicants should have a specialization in Korean literary studies and have research expertise in at least one of the following areas: pre-modern literature, modern literature, or comparative literature. While the primary focus of this position is literary studies, we are interested in applications from candidates with a demonstrated interest in film studies. Applicants with additional interests in interdisciplinary areas beyond literary studies, such as media studies, digital humanities, the history of the book, and Korean diaspora studies, are also encouraged to apply.Performance ObjectivesThe position involves teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses in Korean literature (pre-modern and/or modern literature) and other interdisciplinary areas related to their scholarship. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of a graduate degree program in Korean Studies and the department's offerings in East Asian humanities.Education and Experience RequirementsRequired:
