Postdoctoral Fellowship at University of California, San Francisco

is available for a highly motivated individual to join the laboratory of Vincent Auyeung, MD, PhD in the Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). The laboratory studies how dysregulated lung repair and regeneration contributes to lung diseases such as lung fibrosis and asthma, with a particular focus on cellular stress signaling and the unfolded protein response. vcalab.ucsf.edu .Postdoctoral fellows are expected to be problem-solvers with a positive attitude, who design and perform experiments, critically analyze data, and assume primary responsibility for writing and publishing the scientific results. They are also expected to apply for and be competitive for intramural and extramural funding. Postdoctoral fellows interested in both academic and industry careers are encouraged to apply.Requirements:PhD or equivalent in molecular, cell, or developmental biology, or a similar fieldProficiency in laboratory research, including experimental design, data collection, and analysisExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively as well as independentlyStrong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate laboratory recordsHigh-quality publications from graduate schoolIdeal candidates will be experienced in one or more of the following domains:Standard molecular and cellular assays including immunofluorescence staining, flow cytometry, qPCR, and ELISATissue/cell culture techniques including organoids, air-liquid interface (ALI) culture, and precision-cut lung slices (PCLS)Mouse models of lung fibrosis and asthma, including use of lineage-tracing and conditional genetic knockouts.UC San Francisco seeks candidates whose experience, teaching, research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence.
