Senior Scientist

to work out of our office in Hunt Valley, MD or Virginia Beach, VA. For the right candidate, this position could be fully remote from anywhere on the eastern seaboard from New York to South Carolina.You will be able to be a critical team member and project lead on projects that address navigation sediment management, contaminated sediment remediation, sediment issues related to port development and infrastructure projects, as well as how to use sediment in ecosystem restoration projects. You will be asked to function as a client manager, project manager, and technical expert as part of our growing sediment practice. Project locations will be concentrated on the Atlantic seaboard and Great Lakes, but you will also be asked to assist with projects across the country.Specific Technical tasks will include:Project ManagementDevelopment of data quality objectives, field sampling plans, and quality assurance plansAnalysis of chemical and biological dataPreparation and review required environmental permitsEvaluation of dredged material disposal optionsEvaluation of remedial alternativesEvaluation of potential for ecosystem restorationPreparation of MPRSA Section 103 evaluations and other ecotoxicological evaluationsRegulatory coordinationSpecific Business-Related responsibilities will include:Client management and developmentCost build up to support proposalsMentor mid and junior level staffFunction as part of a multidisciplinary teamQualificationsM.S. and 7 years or BS and 12 years.
