Summary:

The Radiochemist will be responsible for taking a lead technical role in both radiochemical and analytical methods for the drug product and isotope programs at RayzeBio. The Radiochemist’s role will be to identify challenges and to develop solutions to technical problems in radiochemical and analytical QC testing related to RayzeBio’s isotope supply and drug product pipeline. The areas of focus will include ion exchange chromatography, radiometal synthesis, and analytical QC testing. The radiochemist will also be expected to provide leadership to the radiochemistry team in establishing and maintaining proper organizational and safety culture within the laboratory.

Job Responsibilities:

Provide technical expertise and leadership on radiochemical and analytical methodologies.

Support the technical transfer of radiochemical methods from other RayzeBio and third-party sites to the Indianapolis facility.

Manage third-party vendors in support of analytical and laboratory equipment.

Draft GMP documentation including but not limited to SOP’s, forms, and reports.

Support activities related to hot cells, gloveboxes, and production cleanrooms.

Ensure compliance with NRC, EH&S and US/EU GMP regulatory guidelines as required.

Less than 5% of travel required.

Basic Qualifications:

MS with 5+ years of experience in Radiochemistry or other scientific equivalent work experience OR PhD 3+ years of experience in Radiochemistry or other scientific equivalent work experience.

Experience with wet radiochemistry and/or ion-exchange column separations.

Experience with analytical methods (gamma spec, alpha spec, ICP-MS, ICP-OES, Radio-TLC, HPLC, etc.).

Experience working with radioactive materials, alpha emitters highly desirable.

Excellent professional ethics, integrity, and ability to maintain confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years of experience working with radioactive materials.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

This is a position that requires working in a laboratory environment; protective clothing, gloves, and safety glasses are required while working with radioactive materials.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
