WHAT IS THE RESEARCH, APPLIED ANALYTICS AND STATISTICS (RAAS) DIVISION?A description of the business units can be found at:Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas:

Research, Applied Analytics and Statistics Strategy and Business; Research, Applied Analytics and Statistics Data Management; Research, Applied Analytics and Statistics of Income .As a Front Line Manager you will:Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.Evaluate work performance of subordinates and make recommendations for outstanding performance recognition and/or disciplinary action.Give advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on work and administrative matters.Interview candidates for positions within the organization/unit and recommend appointment, promotion, or reassignment to such positions.Hear and resolve complaints from employees, refer group grievances and/or more serious unresolved complaints as appropriate.Effect minor disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands, recommend other actions in more serious cases.Identify developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training.Initiate ways to improve production, work processes and/or to increase the quality of the work directed.RequirementsMust be a U.S. Citizen or National and provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.QualificationsFederal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume.You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL GRADES:Degree: that included 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, of which at least 12 semester hours were in mathematics and 6 semester hours were in statistics.ORCombination of education and experience -- at least 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, including at least 12 hours in mathematics and 6 hours in statistics, plus appropriate experience or additional education.EVALUATION OF EDUCATION:

Courses acceptable toward meeting the mathematics course requirement must have included at least four of the following: differential calculus, integral calculus, advanced calculus, theory of equations, vector analysis, advanced algebra, linear algebra, mathematical logic, differential equations, or any other advanced course in mathematics.EVALUATION OF EXPERIENCE:

The experience offered in combination with educational courses should include evidence of statistical work such as (a) sampling, (b) collecting, computing, and analyzing statistical data, and (c) applying known statistical techniques to data.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR IR-04:

You must have one (1) year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the next lower level within the payband or GS grade that demonstrates the required managerial skills and technical competence required to perform the job.Experience that demonstrated management/leadership experience such as applying management techniques, methods, theories, principles, or labor relations concepts.Experience applying regulations and principles sufficient to oversee the planning, development, and implementation of the technical aspects of programs.Experience applying communicative techniques to effectively interact with internal and external customers.EducationFor positions with an education requirement, submit a copy of your transcripts or equivalent.
